Breast Lift

Mastopexy, also known as breast lift, is a common surgical procedure used to lift sagging breasts that contribute to a frumpy appearance. It is commonly performed on female patients who have lost a tremendous amount of weight as well as on women whose breasts have started to sag due to breastfeeding and the natural aging process. Breast lift surgery can provide a shapelier, more youthful breast appearance, allowing these patients to look and feel younger as well as fit into their clothes better.

The Breast Lift Procedure

During the breast lift procedure, Dr. Mayl removes excess skin and tissue, repositions the nipple, and reshapes the areola and remaining breast tissue. Implants can also be used to create a younger-looking appearance. The incisions, which are carefully created beneath the breast and around the areola, are stitched closed, and the newly fashioned breast is firmer and sits higher on the chest. Patients may experience some pain, bruising, and swelling for up to three weeks after breast lift surgery, and should avoid sleeping on their stomachs during this time.

Breast Reduction

Women who suffer back and neck pain, who have a hard time finding clothes that fit correctly, or who are hindered from enjoying life due to very large breasts are prime candidates for breast reduction surgery, also known as reduction mammaplasty. The goal of breast reduction surgery is to achieve uniform, attractive looking breasts that complement a woman’s frame, but that aren’t large enough to cause her any physical pain or discomfort.

The Breast Reduction Procedure

During the breast reduction procedure at the Mayl Center for Plastic Surgery & Cosmetic Medicine, Dr. Mayl uses a combination of techniques, including liposuction, to remove excess fat, skin, and tissue in the breast area. The nipple and areola are reshaped and repositioned to complement the new breast appearance, and the skin is pulled taut for a perkier and younger-looking appearance. The incisions, which are made on the underside of the breast, are closed with stitches to complete the procedure. Patients may experience discomfort for several weeks after breast reduction surgery. Once the recovery process is complete, patients can experience their new, youthful, slender figure.
