Traditional face lift Surgery
face lift surgery is an effective procedure that can make one look years younger. Dr. Nathan Mayl offers a variety of advanced face lift procedures to women and men of all ages, although it is most popular among patients who are in their 40s or older. Those who treat themselves to a face lift at the Mayl Center for Plastic Surgery & Cosmetic Medicine can expect their results to last up to a decade, making it one of the most cost-effective rejuvenation procedures available.
During the face lift procedure, Dr. Mayl removes excess skin and fat and tightens the facial muscles to create a smoother, firmer appearance. Based on the specific needs and goals of the patient, he can perform the J-Lift, S-Lift, or MACS Lift technique for aesthetically pleasing results. face lift incisions are made behind the ears and hairline, so there should be no visible scarring.
J-Lift Technique
The J-Lift is an exceptional face lift technique for patients with pronounced sagging of the muscles and skin in the lower face and neck. This minimally invasive technique aims to lift and tighten the muscles near the jowls into a more natural and youthful position. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Patients will need to wear a bandage for one day and can make a full recovery within one week.
S-Lift Technique
The S-Lift is a face lift option for patients with minimal facial sagging who wish to rejuvenate the appearance of the cheeks, lower face, and neck. During the procedure, an S-shaped incision is made within the hairline in front of the ear. Then, Dr. Mayl lifts the skin and removes excess fat in the area. Next, the underlying muscles are tightened and repositioned. This face lift procedure is performed under local anesthesia and patients are usually able to make a full recovery in five to seven days.
MACS Lift Technique
A MACS Lift is ideal for improving the look of the lower face and neck by enhancing the appearance of the jaw line and removing jowls that can sometimes appear around the chin. It is a short outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia. This innovative face lift procedure leaves patients looking younger and more refreshed. Patients who have already had a face lift in the past may undergo the MACS Lift as a way to rejuvenate their appearance. Our patients report a short recovery time and dramatic facial improvement.

Weekend face lift and Lifestyle Lift
Some patients who visit our practice are interested in undergoing Weekend face lift surgery to restore a youthful appearance to their face. A relatively new technique, Weekend face lift surgery involves using endoscopic technology to remove, tighten, and reposition muscle and fat tissue in the cheeks, jowl, and neck areas that have contributed to a drooping and sagging facial appearance. Although a Weekend face lift may involve a shorter recovery time than traditional face lift surgery, Dr. Mayl does not recommend the procedure because it does not provide effective results. Instead, Dr. Mayl can recommend other face lift procedures that are more successful. He can discuss these options with you during your initial consultation. ThreadLift®
ThreadLift® is a non-surgical procedure that is used to tighten areas of the face that are prone to sagging or loose skin. Often referred to as the “lunchtime face lift,” ThreadLift® takes about an hour to complete. With little downtime, ThreadLift® is quickly becoming one of the most popular cosmetic procedures available.
ThreadLift® is preferred over other facial plastic surgery enhancement procedures by some patients because it doesn’t require incisions or stitches, and thus leaves no visible scarring. The ThreadLift® procedure is easily performed; Dr. Mayl will thread a thin barbed suture under the skin, where it gently attaches to the tissue. The thread can then be adjusted for optimal enhancement. Since ThreadLift® is minimally invasive, general anesthesia is very rarely required and patients are able to remain relaxed and awake for the duration of the procedure.
ThreadLift® is most appropriate for individuals who show premature signs of aging. It may not provide the desired degree of correction for those with excessive sagging or excess skin; for these patients, Dr. Mayl may recommend his total facial rejuvenation face lift.
String Lift Using APTOS® Threads
In addition to ThreadLift®, Dr. Mayl also offers minimally invasive string lift (feather lift) surgery using APTOS® Threads. APTOS® Threads have tiny, angled ridges that are tugged into place, effectively lifting muscle tissue in a smooth, inconspicuous manner and firmly suspending them into a more youthful position for up to ten years. The procedure can treat sagging areas near the cheeks, jaw line, and neck and does not require large incisions. Because of this, string lift using APTOS® Threads is performed under local anesthesia. Patients are able to make a full recovery within one week.
Subcision face lift Using the APTOS® Wire
Patients can also undergo incisionless face lift surgery using the APTOS® Wire, one of the newest methods for eliminating both wrinkles and folds in the lower face and neck area. An advanced diamond wire scalpel, The APTOS® Wire is a thin, firm wire made of stainless steel attached to a long needle that separates tissue connections beneath the skin to eliminate the appearance of wrinkles. The APTOS® Wire Scalpel is usually used in conjunction with cosmetic injectables and can also be used to provide smooth, youthful results during browlift surgery. Facial Liposculpture
Facial liposculpture is another minimally invasive alternative that provides the same results as face lift surgery with very little scarring and recovery time. The procedure uses liposuction techniques to recontour targeted areas of the face and neck for a slimmer and more youthful contour. Facial liposculpture can eliminate the appearance of a double chin, hanging jowls, or sagging skin on the neck. During the facial liposculpture process, several tiny incisions are made under the chin and a thin vacuum tube called a cannula is used to remove unwanted fat. The underlying muscles are then tightened and repositioned for a more sculpted and refined look. Just as popular as the Liquid face lift, VolumaLift™ is an exciting new procedure that uses volumetric replacement of soft tissue to temporarily restore youthful beauty to the face. Also known as a " face lift in a bottle," VolumaLift™ uses cosmetic injectables such as Restylane®, JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel, Sculptra®, and ArteFill® to fill in, lift, and plump up areas where natural fat has been depleted due to aging, such as the lips, cheekbones, jaw line, and other areas for a younger-looking and refreshed appearance. VolumaLift™ can be combined with other procedures, such as ThreadLift® or BOTOX® injections for further enhancement. Treatment takes approximately one hour, depending on the size of the areas being treated. Rejuvenated, three-dimensional results from VolumaLift™ can last up to two years, depending on the type of dermal filler used.
